Following a musically influenced upbringing in Southern Germany, and after discovering techno at the age of 21, Arne Weinberg first rose to acclaim through the club nights he ran in his home town of Tuebingen, Germany. These events brought him into contact with like minded DJs such as Oliver Kapp, Fabrice Lig, Anthony `Shake’ Shakir, Pacou and many others; cementing and driving his passion for Detroit techno and the deeper shades of electronic music.

Throughout his five year residency here, he honed his turntable skills, developing a superbly fluid, paced style, blending his beloved Detroit cuts with the more experimental electronics coming out of the UK, such as Black Dog and B12.

When the nights finished in 2000 he began producing music of his own, and a move to Frankfurt brought him his first release, the ‘Through the Colonnades’ EP on Propaganda records. This was instantly well received, being charted and played by the likes of Laurent Garnier. Investing in an impressive array of classic synths and drum machines, he shifted his sound towards the classic deep techno he most loved, and the initial result was his stunning ‘Snowflake’ EP on the Dutch Ground Zero imprint (later to become Keynote).

This was the first record to truly showcase the sound he was later to become renowned for – a uniquely soulful blend of driving Detroit beats, lush synth atmospheres, and aching, melancholic melodies. It was released to wide critical acclaim, and was swiftly followed up through excursions on Starbaby, Down Low, Headspace, Native and a second EP on Keynote.

2005 will see many new releases on labels such as Matrix and Meadow, and as well as this he will be providing 11th Hour Recordings with our third EP – ‘Confessions Of A Believer’.
